This Privacy Policy explains how Courtside ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services to discover venues and book sports courts.
What we collect
- Account information: name, email address, password (hashed). If you choose social sign‑in (Google or Facebook), we store your provider and provider ID to link your account.
- Profile preferences: preferred sports, optional avatar.
- Booking information: venue and court details, dates and times, invitees, and booking status.
- Location (optional): if you tap “Nearby”, we use your browser’s location one‑time to search venues near you. We do not store your precise location long‑term.
- Usage and device logs: standard server logs and security/audit information.
How we use your data
- Provide core features: search venues, manage favorites, create and manage bookings.
- Operate and secure the service: authentication, fraud/abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and error reporting.
- Notify you: account/verification emails, booking confirmations, invitations, and essential service communications.
- Personalize: show sports and venues relevant to your preferences.
We do not sell your personal data.
What we share
- With venues you book: we share the booking details necessary for a venue to confirm and fulfill your booking (e.g., your name, booking time, selected court). We don’t otherwise share your personal data with third parties.
- Service providers (processors): we may use trusted providers to host our service, send transactional emails, process images, or monitor reliability. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. They are not permitted to use your data for their own marketing.
- Legal: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users and the service.
Data retention
- Account data is retained while your account remains active. Booking records may be retained for operational, legal, and accounting purposes.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data (subject to legal obligations to retain certain records).
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can view and update your profile information in your account settings.
- Deletion: request account deletion from your profile or by contacting support.
- Email verification: new registrations require verifying your email address (social sign‑ins are treated as verified).
- Location: you can choose whether to share location for “Nearby” search; you can disable browser location permission at any time.
Social login and data deletion
If you used Facebook Login and want to request deletion for app‑sourced data, you can submit a request via our Facebook Data Deletion endpoint. Facebook may send us a signed request which we verify and honor.

Security
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we continually improve safeguards.
